Always start your day with a meal – you have been told time and time again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and with good reason. Water – water is the most important element in the body. As much as 8 glasses of water is required in order for the numerous metabolic processes in your body to work. The colder the water, the better.
Spices – curry, chili peppers, and cinnamon, all of them can give an extra boost in stimulating your metabolism after a meal. You are already expending energy digesting food, and these spices can jack up your system even more.
30-minute walks – take advantage of a beautiful day and walk for 30 minutes. This is far more enjoyable than lying on the couch cruising through TV channels.
Eat small, but frequently – instead of eating 3 full meals a day, why not try taking small meals every 2 hours? Your body is already exerting energy digesting food, and taking small, frequent meals will be a definite way to prevent you from craving foods that provide empty calories.
These are simple ways to help your body increase its metabolic rate. Do note that doing just one of them will not help you get the boost that you need for weight loss.
